About Us

Kayla is a proud native of Amarillo, Texas. She grew up in the River Road area and graduated from River Road High School before pursuing her passion for nursing. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Amarillo College, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was recognized on both the Dean’s and President’s Lists. Driven by a desire to better serve her community, she continued her education and obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. Most recently, she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Liberty University, where she graduated with High Honors. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society of nursing.

Kayla began her nursing career on a medical-surgical floor, gaining valuable experience managing a variety of medical conditions. As a nurse practitioner, she has specialized in primary care, urgent care, and pain management, always striving to provide compassionate, patient-centered care. Her deep love for the Amarillo community has inspired her to give back in numerous ways.

Outside of work, Kayla is a dedicated wife to Mikel, her husband of 20 years, and a proud mother of four. She also shares her home with several beloved pets. A passionate reader, she loves getting lost in a good book. And for those who enjoy a unique conversation starter—she’s a proud member of the Zombie Research Society and even has a custom zombie portrait!
