What's our Mission?

Kayla is a native of Amarillo. She grew up in the River Road area and graduated from River Road High School. After graduating, she attended Amarillo College where she received her Associate Degree in Nursing. She then attended Texas Tech University, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing. At Texas Tech, she was on the Dean’s and President’s List. She graduated Magna Cum Laude. While working at Northwest Texas Healthcare System, she decided to further her education to help improve her ability to care for her community. She obtained her Master’s of Nursing at Walden University. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau. She began her nursing career on a medical surgical floor. This gave her experience with several different medical conditions. As a nurse practitioner she has specialized in primary care, urgent care and pain management. She has a passion for her community and began a charity on her floor at the hospital where they collected flip flops for the homeless being discharged from the hospital. During this time, her floor raised several hundred dollars for flip flops, as well as clothing for the less fortunate being discharged from the hospital. She also began the Bag 4 Bag campaign that raised 2 tons of dog and cat food for the ASPCA and DAWGS of Dalhart. Kayla continues to support and give back in her community. Amarillo STAT Care provides $20 sports, band, and camp physicals for Amarillo youth. Kayla has donated money from these physicals to The Rainbow Room, an emergency resource room located at the Child Protective Services. The Rainbow Room assists children and families in crisis situations. It is a cause that is dear to Kayla's heart. Caring for Amarillo's youth remains one of her top priorities. She is married and has several happy animals. Zombies are always a welcome discussion with Kayla. She is a member of the Zombie Research Society and even has a picture of her painted as a zombie. Her goal as a provider is to give care that will increase the quality of life of her patients. Plus she’s super awesome.
